8 in 8: NFC South

by Ryan

In today's edition of the Roost's NFL Preview, "Eight in Eight", we look at the NFC South.

1. New Orleans Saints
This is pending Drew Brees having his arm fall off after 554 attempts last year, but even then Reggie Bush may have a 60% completion percentage with the weapons available. My fantasy IQ tells me that Marques Colston will still be a dominant receiver; and with Bush catching passes out of the backfield, Devry Henderson in the two slot, and decent defense backing them up, I smell an easy playoff birth. Look for the Saints to repeat as South Champs.

2. Carolina Panthers
Jake Delhomme is the only thing keeping me from a higher ranking. I like Steve Smith, DeShaun Foster looks rejuvenated, and their defense will be staunch as always, but questions with the QB just may keep the team from firing on all cylinders.

For an 8-8 team whose "key addition" is David Carr, it's hard to believe they will finish in the upper half. Julius Peppers and company should thank Mike Vick for the help. A nice fruit basket should do just fine.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Take a look at the Depth Chart and tell me what's wrong. No, you're right, they should have more quarterbacks. Absolutely.

Cadillac Williams will more than likely bounce back from his Sophomore Slump, but it's not going to be enough to lift the Bucs from a sub .500 record.

4. Atlanta Falcons
Joe Horn does not like the Joey Harrington Experience. Joe Horn does like Mike Vick. Joe Horn advises Mike Vick stay strong, and give Chris Redman some pointers. Mr. Horn wishes he was back in New Orleans.

Joe Horn is not amused.
