Pixelated Three Stars- Boston

by Ryan

- 1st- Paille- What a game the kid had. He continues to impress, and is really turning into the reliable, consistent player this team needs. He was the best player statistically during the winless streak and that hard work and effort has certainly carried over. If he keeps this up down the stretch this team may only need one or two more players to pick up the load on the top line.

Also, he definantly needs a good nickname. I've heard "Key Lime" tossed around but I'm still open to suggestions...

-2nd- Hecht- As much as I questioned the C, he certainly played up to it tonight. Helpers on both Paille goals and a few good chances in the offensive zone. His defense continues to improve as well (I don't forget game saving poke checks so soon) and he's really getting to the point where we can say that extension he signed earlier this year is going to be a steal. I was a fan of his all-around game, which isn't something often said about players on this team.

-3rd- Vanek- I know he missed some chances again, but I really liked his play tonight. The goal was typical "Vanek 06" work, and that's always good to see. It would have been the game winner if not for Miller's late softie. Stafford back in the lineup helped his line a lot, and the chemistry between he and Roy continues to develop. If Vanek keeps playing the way he has those bounces will come and his confidence will build. He's not a bust just yet, folks. (Although he did land on Mirtle's Most Disappointing List, something I completely agree with.

Overall it was a decent road win. Two points we desperately need and got, so in the end you really can't pick at much. Miller played well, Peters almost won a fight, and Kaleta was a bullet train once again.

Let's go home, boys.
