Uhh...What?

by Rich

I was looking through the results of today's MLB action over at the Four-Letter, and checked on the box score and recap of the Brewers game to see if former 'Cane Ryan Braun did anything today. Well, Braun went 1-3 with a walk and a strikeout, a performance which was notable only because the walk immediately preceded Prince Fielder's walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth.

Brewers manager Ned Yost had this to say about his portly first baseman's clutchnessticity:

"'P' thrives on those situations, game-winners. There was no doubt in my mind that he wasn't going to find a way to get a hit somewhere."

So...there was doubt that he...would get a hit? Either Ned Yost has a disturbing lack of faith in his cleanup hitter, or he hasn't quite figured out that whole double-negative thing yet. Either way, it doesn't bode particularly well. I guess playing the Pirates will do that to you.

The Brewers wrap up a three-game home series against Pittsburgh tomorrow, after which Yost is expected to hold a press conference regarding whether or not the Brewers shouldn't not try to make a trade for C.C. Sabathia.
