Of course guys are hurt during the season, it wouldn't be Sabres hockey otherwise. Some injury updates from WGR550:
- "Adam Mair has an ankle injury that Lindy Ruff said would keep him out weeks."
- "Tim Connolly has a strained oblique will be out for an undetermined amount of time. Ruff insisted that his injury has nothing to do with his head."
- "After injuring his hand against the Canadiens, Andrej Sekera felt better today and took part in practice."
- "Ruff said defenseman Jaroslav Spacek is still doubtful with a shoulder injury, adding that Spacek is able to practice and shoot, but not at 100 percent. Ruff considers him day-to-day, but doubtful for Wednesday's home contest with Boston."
The status of Nolan Pratt still appears to be up in the air. Dmitri Kalinin is still out. Does Teppo Numminen even count anymore? It's a nice defense that the front office has packaged together for us to watch, isn't it?
"Ruff said both Dylan Hunter and Clarke MacArthur are possibilities to be called up for Wednesday night’s game against the Boston Bruins."
So if all of the players listed don't play tomorrow night, we could be looking at:
Vanek-Roy-Stafford
Kotalik-Hecht-Pominville
Paille-Gaustad-Afinogenov
Hunter-MacArthur-Peters/Ryan (Peters and Ryan will duke it out for four minutes of ice time. There's no way both of them play, is there?)
Tallinder-Lydman
Campbell-Paetsch
Weber-Marc-Andre Gragnani/Mike Card/Mike Funk (Really doesn't matter who the sixth man is, the top four will average about 15 minutes each. Ruff will most likely keep this pair on the bench early and often).
Miller
Thibault
